TPC Packaging has grown into one of the only full-service packaging providers in North America, specializing in U.S.-domestically manufactured high-end folding cartons, rigid boxes, and shaped canisters, while also offering kitting and in-line product fulfillment.
This legacy of excellence was celebrated in a major way earlier this year when TPC marked its 100th anniversary with an unforgettable event. Bringing together employees, clients, and industry partners, the milestone celebration honored a century of innovation, dedication, and growth. Hosted with elegance and enthusiasm, showcasing the company’s exciting new brand refresh, the event was a testament to TPC’s legacy and bright future.
A Grand Welcome and Memorable Program
Jed Mescon of Cumulus Media set the tone for the evening as he welcomed guests and led a heartfelt program on behalf of the Schmissrauter family. His words reflected the company’s rich history, its unwavering commitment to excellence, and its plans for the future. Attendees were taken on a journey through TPC’s 100-year evolution, highlighting the company’s resilience, adaptability, and industry leadership.
A Legacy of Family Leadership
The Schmissrauter family's dedication has been the cornerstone of TPC's success since its inception. Founded on April 19, 1924, by Joseph A. "Smitty" Schmissrauter, Sr., with a modest investment of $250 in second-hand printing equipment, TPC began as the Textile Printing Company. Since day one, Smitty instilled a customer-centric philosophy, emphasizing that "the customer is at the top of the organizational chart," a principle that continues to guide the company today.
Later down the line, leadership transitioned to his son, Joe Jr., whose vision and commitment propelled TPC to become one of North America's leading independent folding carton companies. Upon Joe Jr.'s passing in October 2000, ownership was entrusted to his four children: Joe III, Mark, Kurt, and Hilda. Under their stewardship, TPC has navigated challenges and celebrated milestones, including its 95th anniversary in 2019, when President Joe III proudly noted, 'TPC has survived world wars, recessions, and even the Great Depression.' Now, five years later, the company adds another challenge to that list—having persevered through the COVID-19 pandemic—as it enters its 100th year.
A Brand-New Look for the Next Century
As the night continued on, the event also served as the perfect stage to unveil TPC’s refreshed branding, which was seamlessly woven into every detail of the evening. From the elegant name tags and custom napkins to the thoughtfully designed floral arrangements, the new branding made a bold statement. This fresh visual identity signifies a new era for TPC while honoring the legacy built over the past century.
The night was filled with laughter, reflection, and excitement as guests mingled and shared their experiences with TPC over the years.
Looking Ahead
As TPC Packaging embarks on its next century, the company remains dedicated to innovation, customer service, and industry leadership. This milestone celebration not only honored the past but also set the stage for an exciting future. With a fresh brand identity and a strong vision, TPC continues to pave the way for the next 100 years of success.
